Ingredients
2 c rice
1/2 c ghee or 1 c butter
6 clove
s 3 3/4 c boiling water
2 c grated fresh coconut
3 c jaggery or sugar
6 pc cardamoms
1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
1/4 c raisins
1/4 c almonds, sliced
Yellow food coloring
Procedure
Wash rice and set aside for an hour. Heat butter or ghee in pan; add cloves and washed rice, and sauté 5-10 minutes. Pour 3 3/4 cups boiling water on rice. Cook rice till done. Spread it on a flat dish to cool.
In another pot, cook grated coconut and jaggery or sugar until coconut becomes soft (say, 10 minutes). Add rice, food coloring, cardamom, nutmeg powder, raisins, and almonds. |
